one more night in hollywood

After a day of a big family after-wedding brunch, cancelled and rescheduled honeymoons, and the witnessing of opening wedding cards and presents.. some of us went out to dinner to "Quaker, Steak and Lube".

This place was featured on "Man Vs Food" and apparently, he failed the challenge of eating the Atomic wings.  Apparently, my family is full of wusses, cause no one wanted to attempt the Atomic wings!  PSH!  However, I shouldn't be too hard on them, I got the "tequila lime bbq" flavored wings, and as you can see above, they're low on the list, and no one else got lower than me.  So I was the wussiest of the wusses, I guess... sigh.

uneven snores

my day started off GREAT:

We then traveled to my other Aunt and Uncle's to start preparing for my cousin Emily's wedding. First, a whole bunch of women went to a nail salon and we got our nails done. This is not something I do that often at all, so it was really funny to me that somehow I ended up with this on my toe:

Hysterical!

Merry Christmas from Connellsville

meet me on the bus downtown

My cousin Sara, my sister Kristin, my father and I were gifted some tickets to the Steelers game on Sunday against the Cleveland Browns.

So we went.

It was an important game because
(1) The Steelers and Browns are Rivals
(2) It was Ben Roethilsberger's first game  back since his whole scandal where he may or may not have sexually assaulted someone.
My cousin, sister and I were really curious about what the crowd was going to do when they announced his name since when the whole thing happened, Pittsburgh pretty much hated him.  I think he got lucky that the team hasn't been doing very well lately, cause when they announced him, there were more cheers than boos.  AND NOW YOU KNOW!

Pittsburgh really is a team that loves their football team.   Every time I go to a game or just visit the area it is mind blowing.  Seriously, the sales at the grocery stores are "Steeler Sales".  The ads on the radio are addressed to Steeler fans and then advertise things like a car sale. It really is like the football team are the one and only hometown heroes.

Anyway, it was a good time.  They won, so that was good considering every other time I've gone to a game they lost, so I was happy about THAT.

After the game, I slept in a car for about 4 and a half hours.
I WAS THAT TIRED.

see you drivin round town

On Friday, I traveled to the land of Pittsburgh with my parents and sister. YOU SEE. My cousin is getting married in December.

So bright and early on Saturday morning, the pre-wedding events started.

First off? The Bridal Shower.

I got an ornament!
And someone randomly gave my cousin Beth a plateful of cookies.  So we put her name place card on the cookies and waited until she decided to share with the rest of the table.
So yeah, the shower was fun.  Very heartfelt, lots of tears.  I was not expecting to almost cry more than once.  But I did get to decorate a miniature Christmas tree all by myself while all the guests watch.  Everyone was supposed to bring Emily an ornament to decorate her and Justin's Christmas tree, and I was the one that had to display each ornament on a temporary tree, and I was so scared I was going to drop one of the glass ornaments and break it.   But - I didn't.  I'm a pro.

After the Bridal Shower, Event #2 came into play.  A Birthday BBQ for Justin and Emily who had just celebrated birthdays a few days earlier.
My aunt got some gourmet cupcakes for the occasion and my cousin Sara and I decided to cut a piece out of all the cupcakes and share a tasting plate.  In case you're wondering, these cupcakes were banging, yo.  The best ones were Key Lime, S'Mores, Raspberry and PeanutButter Banana.  AND OF COURSE!!! The Pumpkin Flavor.

Then the Third and Final "Wedding" Event of the Weekend Happened.  Emily's Bachelorette Party.

After the plans changed 110 times, it was finally decided we'd do some Bridal Hazing and then go out dancing somewhere.  Emily made the mistake of inviting all of the females in her house downstairs to have Jello Shots (which were shaped like male genitalia), play pin-the-dick on the model, and listen to her be questioned about her sex life.  (in front of her mother and justin's mother and grandmother.)  I tried to tell her not to invite EVERYONE down, but she didn't listen to me!  I hope she learned her lesson!!

Yeah so then we went dancing and one of her friends brought these cards with her.   It's a game where you pick a card and you either complete the task or you don't, but if you complete it, you get the points, duh.
This was my card.  I really was lucky because the person to my left was my sister, so I had no problem lifting up her arm and smelling her arm pit.  I got 40 points for this and actually won the game.  I thought it was really funny that everyone else was getting cards that said things like, "Give a fake number to 5 different guys" and it was only worth 10 points.  HAHA it's like I was handed the win.

Anyway, a good time was had by all.

And Emily got drunk enough to do some pushups in the club.

AND THAT WAS MY SATURDAY
