I went with my Mother, Father, Brother and future Sister-in-Law to New York to hang out for a few hours and scope out some Christmas surroundings.
Like this! The outside of Macy's. We went inside too, but I'm never too big of a fan of that because it's just a Macy's. But we saw Santaland and I thought about David Sedaris' story about working as a Macy's elf.
And we saw MORE Christmas..
And even more!!!!!
Even waved to Tina Fey!!!!
Then we did some other stuff. It was a day full of seeing Christmas-y stuff and drinking a beer and being in lots of crowds while being cold. I also got to try Macaroons and guess what? If I could make macaroons, I would put better stuff in between the two cookies. I was underwhelmed! But they're still pretty and colorful, yeah? yeah.

give me sympathy
Jenell and I went and saw Nathan in Brooklyn for a very important occasion.
The three of us worked on some songs for upcoming Jenell and the Yets stuff!
We also explored Nathan's apartment and went on the subway, where Nathan tried out my flipcam and made a moving portrait (above).

2 hearts are beating together
One thing my friendship with Jenell has brought me is the appreciation of certain pop music. One of the one's she made me aware of is Kylie Minogue! And guess what? Kylie did her very first US tour in her 20 year career and Jenell took me to go see it with her!! Wha CHA!
Kylie is really friggin short, so seeing her was difficult at times, even though we started off really close. But, the show was really impressive. Kylie is sort of a Pop icon pretty much everywhere but the US, so the show was really awesome to see. She's a pro, no doubt about it.
She also knows her demographic. I knew when we went that there'd be a lot of gay guys, but, psh, I was surprised at how MANY there were. I thought there'd be a pretty even girl to gay guy ratio, but no. At one point, we were literally surrounded by gay men. "Not that there's anything wrong with that." Anyway, Kylie made sure she made them very happy and worked the male dancers.
After the show, our feet were killing us, so we sat in a window at Duane Reade and tried to recoup.
Overall, we left NYC happy. Thank you for the heads up, Jenell.

what the hell am i supposed to say?
On October 9, New York was home to many a thing.
Such as Jenell and Jamie interacting with Eavvon.
Seeing where all former "Project Runway" contestants live after their time on the show
A celebration of Mr. John Lennon's birthday though celebrating his artwork
And a really awesome alley down the street from a deli that sold really cheap and awesome bananas.
But no challah :(

happy birthday to me!

THE FINAL DAY OF MY BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION took place on Sunday, my actual Birthday. Jenell kidnapped me and wouldn't tell me where we were going.
so we took the awesome mix jenell made me and we TRAVELED VERY FAR

And after leading me VERY astray with misleading clues... I was really totally surprised to find LISA up in HAMILTON. For realz, ya'lls... that was tricky.
So we boarded a train to NYC..

Then after a long birthday present search excursion to Louis Vuitton, the four of us went traveling to some Sushi place. It was that or S'MAC but that seemed like an extra trip in the way too cold.. so I made the deal for sushi. MAAAN between Jenell flinging tuna onto the floor and Eavvon stepping on it, thinking it was a "squishy rock" and Lisa trying to eat chicken... L-O-L-Z AAAHHH
We did a lot of traveling on the subway...

Jenell had super human strength
And Lisa smelt a stinky one...

I'd post pictures from PINKBERRY but guess what? CAN'T. But I was very happy to finally get there. I feel like I've heard so much about that place, then Jenell taste tested in December and approved so it was finally my turn. And guess what? I approve as well. I think any place that offers fruity pebbles as a topping deserves an A+
Anyway - we later people watched in Pennsylvania Station for about 70 hours. But once you get in there, you find a plethora of odd people. We're talking 60 year old male cheerleaders in female uniforms, some US Chavs, some sexy cops, some old lady that never gives up, a little boy in overalls who can't stop spinning.. and lots lots more.

It all ended with Jenell putting on comfortable shoes!
All in all, a very well thought out, fun day. I'd go into more detail, but guess what? I GOTTA GO TO BAND PRACTICE, BITCHES!!!!!!!!!!!
but for reals, thank you, friends :) you gave me a happy birthday! I can't even pick a best day! AH YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME.
really gotta go now.

cause i'm giving up

went with aunts, uncles, mom, dad, sister and cousin to nyc today to see touristy bits of the city. the rock, the radio city, the park, the 5th ave, etc etc etc.
and even though we never found balto, and we never got to certain stores and didn't get our ring books... the day wasn't ruined for me because it wasn't insanely crowded!!!

i gotta see what's up before it gets me down

LATER THOUGH, AFTER THAT, we played video gaaammeees, we ate fooood, we saw Eaaaavon in times squaaaare along with John and Kat (Jat? Kohn?), and had great lessons in life from Mr. New York himself.
All I know is New York City still has that silly rule about sitting on curbs. That security guy was lucky Jenell was in a good mood when he asked us to stand up.. word.
