there're rubies up your sleeve

Went to see THE KILLS!  Alison Mosshart is such a badass.  I've always liked the kills, but The Dead Weather made me realize that she's this really cooool rockstar with a awesome voice.

Needless to say, it was a fun show.  The Kills played lots off the new album and some hits.. fun times.

Jenell and I even learned a thing or two about being a rockstar like Alison.  Here's the big one we learned...

make it so people always wonder, "what does she look like?"  or "this lady looks batshit" and always have your hair over your face like this..
we're well on our way.

you're just too good to be true

I got to dog sit over the weekend and hang out with these three dogs.  They're so freakin cute.  I could totally get a Morkie.

oh yeah.

Not my dog.

here comes peter cottontail

For Easter, I went to Breakfast/Lunch (i hear some people call it a "brunch" when that happens..) with my family and my sister stole a golf cart.

Afterwards, Kristin introduced "Just Dance" to Jenell and I.  It's a wii game that makes you dance and, as we found out, gives you an awesome work out.

It was a good day.  A good good day.

i can't live if living is without you

The Brownies played a show at Lickety Split.  They did a wooonnderful job and a good time was had.

There was a postcard on the table that gave no information other than a location of a show.  So since someone sucked at Advertising, Jenell and I decided to step up the advertising for The Brownies... and here are the results:

You can hire us and pay us.  You're welcome.

now i'm not stranger to the strange

While coming in from "outside time" one of the kids in my class was like, "OO A BUG" and I was like, "it's not a bug" and when I got closer, I leaned down and was like, "oh my GOD get away it's huge" and I was pushing the kids to get away from it and getting all jumpy and telling the woman I work with, "That is the biggest bug I have ever seen in my life"

The next morning, we went outside and the bug was still there -- Hadn't moved since we had seen it the afternoon before.

Yeah.  Basically I acted like a big wuss over a fake plastic bug.

how'd the simple life get so complicated?

I made these banging cupcakes.  They were the easiest cupcakes to make ever.  All I had to do was take yellow cake mix and mix it with a can of crushed pineapple and follow the baking directions on the box.  The icing was fluff, cream cheese and more crushed pineapples.  Not only were they delicious, but they were incredibly easy to pull of.

Such a great candid and natural photo of Nathan and Jenell, right?  Right.

all i want is you to be my sweet honey bee

I did not want to see any spoilers and have the movie ruined for me, so I got Matt to go see "Scream 4" with me.  I love the "Scream" franchise even though the 1st was (and will probably always) be the best.   This one was okay, and I didn't see the "Killer" coming, but at the same time, you know what's gonna happen.  The Ghostface dude is gonna show up when people are alone and kill them.  So .. I dunno.. it was good but at the same time, I'd tell people to wait to see it for free on a movie channel one day.

After the movie, I had to stop at Target, and when I went back to my car after my purchase, I no longer had my car keys.  The Ghostface killer probably stole them outta my bag with intent to kill me when I got home after getting my spare set.

That or I locked my keys in my car.

Whichever.

best part of the movie was this song played during the credits?   Perhaps?

Ida Maria - Bad Karma

JuDAS ju duh ah ah

Jenell and I stopped by Zane St to see some friends.  That's not true.  We stopped by Zane St to WOW our friends with our artistic abilities.  It had to be done.

And so it was.

Here is our painting of a Blind Fire Breathing Dragon attacking a village on Christmas Eve while an Owl decides to save the commoners by launching itself off of the Christmas Star and into the flapping wings of the dragon.  It's a comment on social status. Figure it out.   Topher approves.

Next, we decided to do a dreamy portrait of Steve.

And then a dreamy portrait of Jim Halper... I mean... Topher.

the CMC thanks you for your admiration and envy.

these are my famous last words

AW SNAP!
A new Foo Fighters album!
I was really stoked about this because lots of reviews were saying it was so good, and I was totally buying into that hype.  I loved "Rope" and I loved the songs that were played in the "Back and Forth" documentary they played.. so I WAS STOKED.
And I was not let down.  This album is pretty badass.  Again, I might be completely biased in this opinion, but eh, I think it's good.  I feel safe in saying if you like the Foo Fighters, you'll like this album.  It sounds like a Foo Fighters album

I don't even know what song to share, I like them all, so just take track one, "bridge burning"

the things we said today

The problem with being so behind on these updates is that a lot can happen in a month.
When I took this picture, I thought it was funny that outside time with my pet involved going outside to watch her roll around on some bricks and making sure she didn't chase squirrels.  It's not crazy fun or anything,  I mean I always felt good that she enjoyed being outside so much, but if I knew then how things would be NOW, I'd be thrilled to just be sitting on a step watching her sniff stuff and roll around.

cause you're beautiful!

My desire for sushi brought Matt, Jenell and I to this random sushi place by a Friendly's.  I really liked it.  Especially the lighting..  HOW COOL IS THAT CEILING!?    Plus.  Jenell grew fangs.  Gnarly.

oh my darling

Went to Target.
Jenell got this thing.
It brought her lungs hours of exercise!

you're heart is a beating drum

THE KILLS.  "Blood Pressure"  I don't know why I inculded a shadow puppet here.  I just didn't want it to be a boring old picture of a computer screen.  Anyway, this was another purchase made on my itunes gift certificate (thanks, Sean!) and I really love this album too.

Again.   A ton of good songs.  IAnd to make my decision easy about which to post, their record label has removed all of the songs off the new album off of youtube, except their single, so here's the video for "Satellite"

why you gotta be mean now?

For my birthday, my brother gave me an itunes gift card, so I got some MUSIC!  And I got Black Lips album, "Good Bad, Not Evil".   It's a fun little album, first heard of the band awhile ago, but they were brought back into my life with "500 days of summer" with this song, "Bad Kids"..

So while looking for stuff to buy, I went and checked out Black Lips and decided to purchase.   Here's another song just for kicks.

"O Katrina"

9 lives like a kitty cat

Here I am with Stef and her little brother.

This was after a weekend of burnt pan cookie, youtube galore, sleepovers, RAW-NAY, amazing veggie burgers at National Mechanics, ugh terrible scenes in that Naked Nuns with Guns movie, Matt okaying wiht a cool vase, autobiographies, parking tickets, Peter Frampton in a hot air balloon, bananas that Matt couldn't eat when his foot hurt, party of five, Matt forgetting his credit card on the table (I saved his life.) and college memories.

to be continued..

smile

While waiting in the subway to go to a pillow fight that was already over in a park, Matt, Stef and I decided to pass the time by playing the game... uhm... I don't know what it's called.  What I do know is that you shout a random circumstance, like, "You're hair is on fire!" and the other players are supposed to play along and react to what you say, and you take the picture of their reaction.

We played for awhile, and there were some great pictures taken.  This was my favorite, because I said something and they couldn't make out what I said.  They were asking me what I said as I took the picture and this was a natural and real expression from both of them.

How amazing is that?

i've only just begun

Ah April First.
My weekend with Stef and Matt started with me playing an April Fool's Joke on Matt.  Here's how it went.
(supposed to be at matt's at 7pm, we had dinner reservations at 9pm.)
6:50pm.  I'm a block away from Matt's house.

Me:  Shit! Matt!  I just woke up and I haven't even packed!   I'm gonna be sooo late.
Matt:  All right, be careful getting up here.

As I drive in front of Matt's house, he's coming down the stairs and I'm waving with the windows down and and screaming, "APRIL FOOOOOLS" and he stops and just looks kinda stunned as I go to park my car.

I guess somone forgot about the holiday!

Anyway, after I had a good laugh at my own joke, Stef, Matt and I went to the restaurant where Matt's Famous Uncle Karl runs the bar.  We got really good food and some good beer before going back to Matt's to read him his autobiography.

I don't know why Matt hates Stef and I.
