put your arms around me, honey

My brother came home on his birthday, and when I was sent on the mission to buy him a cake or a cupcake.. I decided to go to a local bakery and found my decision was spot on.  Why?  Because they sold sparkler candles there.

The only problem we came across was being able to light them all together.. that was complicated.

But Happy Birthday, Sean!

how'd the simple life get so complicated?

I made these banging cupcakes.  They were the easiest cupcakes to make ever.  All I had to do was take yellow cake mix and mix it with a can of crushed pineapple and follow the baking directions on the box.  The icing was fluff, cream cheese and more crushed pineapples.  Not only were they delicious, but they were incredibly easy to pull of.

why you so speechless?

For my NEXT birthday trick...

Lady Gaga (or Ga-GA as a few privileged are allowed to call her..) called Jenell and I and BEGGED us to come out to eat with her at the boardwalk hall in atlantic city.  Little did we know, it was a surprise party.  And it had a photobooth.  See?
That was all a lie.  That was just the photobooth on my phone.  Sigh.
Anyway!  We went to the MONSTER BALL in ATLANTIC CITY, and despite requests to sit down, we couldn't.  We just could not sit down.  We had to dance and do this...

It was fun. I think I could go to the Monsterball once a month.. her music is that fun.   I'm stoked to go to the "Born This Way Ball" (i think she should change the name.)  already.  AND!  We were the first concert that got to see her perform "Born This Way", so, yeah, be jealous, cause I know you are.  Right?  Yeah.. right?  You are?  Anyway.  It's a bloody good time which is why this picture is appropriate:

Side story that is awesome:  when this drag queen dressed as Lady Gaga walked down an aisle to get to her seat, everyone in the arena seriously thought it was Lady Gaga and took pictures and were screaming and clapping.  It was brilliant.  I felt really proud for the Drag Queen -- success!  Jenell and I had seen her earlier in a bar, so we knew it wasn't Lady Gaga.  But people really thought it was her, even when she and I were telling people, "it's a dude!" .. they didn't listen!

Later, Jenell sucessfully surprised me with these delicious strawberry icing/strawberry cake cupcakes.  Be Jealous, ya'll.  They were DELICIOUS!!

GOOD TIMES GOOD TIMES!

i'm sorry it took me so long out here

Came home from work and my sister said, "hey do you wanna make stuff tonight?"  I said, "Sure" so when my brother's fiancee got to our house, we did it up.  Made Reindeer, Snowmen and Ornamnent cupcakes, oreo/creamcheese white chocolate covered cookies, and my sister attempted to make this weird chocolate chip cheesecake bar.

All I know is that by the time we were icing these cupcakes, we were all begging for the rest of my family to do a cupcake because we just wanted to be DONE.

That was a lot of baking.

see you drivin round town

On Friday, I traveled to the land of Pittsburgh with my parents and sister. YOU SEE. My cousin is getting married in December.

So bright and early on Saturday morning, the pre-wedding events started.

First off? The Bridal Shower.

I got an ornament!
And someone randomly gave my cousin Beth a plateful of cookies.  So we put her name place card on the cookies and waited until she decided to share with the rest of the table.
So yeah, the shower was fun.  Very heartfelt, lots of tears.  I was not expecting to almost cry more than once.  But I did get to decorate a miniature Christmas tree all by myself while all the guests watch.  Everyone was supposed to bring Emily an ornament to decorate her and Justin's Christmas tree, and I was the one that had to display each ornament on a temporary tree, and I was so scared I was going to drop one of the glass ornaments and break it.   But - I didn't.  I'm a pro.

After the Bridal Shower, Event #2 came into play.  A Birthday BBQ for Justin and Emily who had just celebrated birthdays a few days earlier.
My aunt got some gourmet cupcakes for the occasion and my cousin Sara and I decided to cut a piece out of all the cupcakes and share a tasting plate.  In case you're wondering, these cupcakes were banging, yo.  The best ones were Key Lime, S'Mores, Raspberry and PeanutButter Banana.  AND OF COURSE!!! The Pumpkin Flavor.

Then the Third and Final "Wedding" Event of the Weekend Happened.  Emily's Bachelorette Party.

After the plans changed 110 times, it was finally decided we'd do some Bridal Hazing and then go out dancing somewhere.  Emily made the mistake of inviting all of the females in her house downstairs to have Jello Shots (which were shaped like male genitalia), play pin-the-dick on the model, and listen to her be questioned about her sex life.  (in front of her mother and justin's mother and grandmother.)  I tried to tell her not to invite EVERYONE down, but she didn't listen to me!  I hope she learned her lesson!!

Yeah so then we went dancing and one of her friends brought these cards with her.   It's a game where you pick a card and you either complete the task or you don't, but if you complete it, you get the points, duh.
This was my card.  I really was lucky because the person to my left was my sister, so I had no problem lifting up her arm and smelling her arm pit.  I got 40 points for this and actually won the game.  I thought it was really funny that everyone else was getting cards that said things like, "Give a fake number to 5 different guys" and it was only worth 10 points.  HAHA it's like I was handed the win.

Anyway, a good time was had by all.

And Emily got drunk enough to do some pushups in the club.

AND THAT WAS MY SATURDAY

live your life as if you're one

Soooo the summer preschool program ended, so I thought I'd be nice to make some cupcakes for the last day.  In case you're wondering how they were, my bud Christian gave me this review:
"MISS JAMIE!  THESE ARE FULL OF DELICIOUS!!  okayokayokay WATCH" (takes a huge bite out of the cupcake)  "THAT WAS SO GOOD"

sssssssshaving cream

Bing Bang Boom.
That's how the winter birthdays of three very important people come in my life.
My dad is December 27th, Jenell is January 7th and my mom is January 8th.
Whose idea was this?!
Needless to say, a lot of cupcakes were made, wrapping paper was used, and I still love them all... my wallet on the other hands sorta hates them.

and i would give everything i own

i made some banana cupcakes with honey cinnamon frosting the other day.
this caused me to:
- have "banana pancakes" by Jack Johnson in my head for a very very long time.
- wash a whole lot of utensils
- debate not margarine/not butter to unsalted butter and the effects it will have on things.

i actually made these for a reason, but i feel like i could do better.

i ache for you

Jenell and I played a show at the bus stop. But guess what? I did not take any pictures. I feel stupid about this. How do I forget to take pictures when I'm taking them so often?

Anyway, I did it before, so I'm doing it again.
Here's Jenell and I playing our SONGS.
Jenell brought cupcakes!!!! they were delicious!
Later, Jenell didn't feel like getting up, so Steve did her a favor and got her a coke!
Nathan, Lisa, Jenell and myself had dinner.
And after bus stopping it, Nathan, Jenell and I took the party back to Millville. I'm not sure how this picture works. Nathan isn't that tall, nor was his beer bottle that big. Not only that but Jenell doesn't have pointy fingers. Not only that but Nathan broke his glasses, so I don't know why he's wearing them. SO MANY QUESTIONS!

the perks of hanging in preschools

Wednesday, February 18, 2009

i hope my boyfriend don't mind it.

FEBRUARY 17th MARKS MY BIRTHDAY.
So Jenell did the right thing and took me to a fountain!I was told not to make any plans cause there were "reservations". So this sent me into "crack the puzzle" mode and guess what? there was no way in hell I was going to guess this. Jenell and Lisa took me to a very special secret Metric show that they were putting on in Philly for my birthday!
It was a very stripped down show which was really cool to see, plus they previewed a lot of their new album so it made me excited for the release of that, but bummed because it doesn't come out until April.
So that was really awesome and I'm glad they concocted such a plan. After Metric had their acoustic rock show and I had some chicken fingers, Jenell brought out the unique birthday cupcakes. This year she did smores cupcakes, graham crackers on the bottom, chocolate middle (with real chocolate chunks!), fluff top, and a piece of graham cracker on top! That girl tops herself each year with this.
so thank you thank you thank you a million times over. people should be jealous!
