I read, "Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close" by Jonathan Safran Foer this week.Not that you can tell from the picture above, but this book is pretty depressing. I bought it on Friday, started it on Saturday, finished it on Wednesday evening and was depressed for the rest of the night. It's kind of strange because the books ends on an up note and everything... but there's something about a book being told through the voice of a 9 year old whose father died in 9/11 that really bums you out..........hm.
I liked it a lot, though. It was unique with it's pictures, with the blocked out words, the corrections in red pen, etc etc. And little Oskar is so innocent, sad, traumatized.. with a set of really heavy boots.
