today was insane, ze band practiced for a really long time and learned new songs so if you come and see us on OCTOBER 12th in Millville at Bogarts, you will hear new BAND material.
BUT. My favorite band of ten years, the Foo Fighters, released their 6th album today! I went and bought it on my lunch break and I still haven't listened all the way through (i've been busy). But as I update I'm listening and guess what? SO FAR SO GOOD. But I say that about everything they do, so really, i'm a very biased critic. But it's a bit different from their other albums, but these songs just seem so much more.. together or something. I don't know, but I'm happy that they haven't let me down with this album. I was scared at first.. reading interviews about how they were going for a SteelyDan-PeterFrampton inspired record, but I don't know what they're talking about. I think they were insane for a minute.
Anyway, long story short: Nathan no longer has his right index finger, Jenell gives a rockin guitar cue when needed, Gizmo is very judgemental, I'd give someone's left nut to be able to speak fluent backwards, and the foo fighters are still my favorite band and they're amazing.
ps. dave grohl, if you are reading this, it's time we met. for real. this has gone on long enough, next time you're in philly, call my people, we'll do lunch.

I love the classic-rock vibe that "The Pretender" has and it got me to thinking recently about how much influence Dave Grohl has single-handedly had on all the music I love to listen to.
It's next on my list of albums to buy. Let me know how you like it.
Jamie,
Aren't you going to be in PR? Doesn't that mean that Dave would just have to call you direct? Or do PR people, have people too? And if that IS the case, isn't that a tad convoluted? I'm just saying, in terms of conveying a sentiment that you really do want Mr. Grohl to do lunch with you, shouldn't you be eager enough to just have him call you direct. Lets not play games with red tape and what not, and say what you really want. I think you'll get a better response that way. I'm just trying to look out for you- unless of course, you're trying not to seem available, so Dave feels a sense of urgency in trying to get in touch, but then again, we're back to playing games. Why not just call a spade a spade?
tj - buy it, i've listened to it like 3 times now and each listen i like it more. if you like "the pretender" you'll like other ones. GO FOR IT. if you want me to send you like 3 sample songs I will!
eavvon - yeah but i don't represent myself. Eavvon i'm freakin V.I.P, people call my people to talk to me. that's just been the way my life has ALWAYS been.. well.. unless they're my friends, then they can just call me. but me and dave have never met, so he still has to go through my people. got it?
It all makes perfect sense, NOW. Thank you
