i want to know that at least i tried

Weezer is one of those bands that I absolutely fell in love with.  I know I got into "Pinkerton" first and then I fell back to "the Blue Album" and they were definently a band that had a big impact on me.

Then "Make Believe" came out, and I wasn't really feeling it.  I liked maybe 4 songs... but hey, maybe it was just was a bump in the road.  But then downward spiral continued, and "The Red Album" came out and ... psh, I didn't even buy that.  I'm pretty sure there were 2 songs on it I liked.  And "Raditude" came out and at first I was really excited about it, but it really just turned out to be another let down.

I was really losing hope in Weezer.  Especially when "Raditude" came out and there was that TERRIBLE song with Lil Wayne called, "Can't Stop Partying"... ugh, I get the tounge in cheekness and all, but it was just terrible.  Terrible all over.  When there's a band that you loved that seemed to be so genuine in their music and lyrics and they suddenly sound like they're trying to just sell out completely just to get #1 hits however they can, it's really disappointing!

So thank God they finally came out with a good album again.  "Hurley" sounds more like the Weezer I fell in love with..  And really, that's what I've wanted all along!

Check this song, the backing vocals and mandolin are by Michael Cera!

I'm also posting this today because back in the DAY, my girl Amy loved Rivers and Weezer with me, and I just so happened to have a reunion with her on this day!  And she still cracks me the hell up..

horray!!
