who's that lady?!

 

Last Halloween, I was looking for something that I could watch that would scare me.  Couldn't find anything on television, and so I started looking on TV2.0 (youtube.) and I found it, a youtube account under the name, "MarbleHornet"

EXAMPLE:

They have a whole series up on their account, and I watched all of it.  Needless to say, I TOTALLY freaked myself out.  This floating dude in a suit was showing up all over town and just hanging out.  He didn't even have to do anything, all he had to do was stand still, and that was enough.  Later, I ended up thinking it was more funny.   Some dude in a suit is floating around and staring some poor kid who just wanted to make a movie.

Fast forward to the other day: I was online, and was reading some message board or something and someone mentioned, "slender man" and everyone was like, "DONT GOOGLE IT IF YOU DONT WANT TO BE SCARED" and I thought to myself, "how scary can someone called 'slender man' be?"  So I googled it.  And it blatanly said, "this character was made up" and it's basically this slender man with really long arms and really long legs that just blends in with the trees and when he opens his arms, he hypnotizes people and they go to him and then they disappear ..... FOREVER.

This was all very stupid to me.  What an easy character to come up with.  Someone who blends in with trees, in the dark, and peeks in windows and such.  It's like making up a character specifically to scare a child.

Then I walked outside to my car and couldn't help but stare down the trees....

Anyway, I mentioned ol' Slender Man on twitter, and my friend Eric told me to watch the new slender man videos on youtube, and it hit me.  Slender Man IS MarbleHornet's monster!  OMG!  So when I got home, I watched the rest of the videos (wasn't scared anymore though, I was pretty much over the fear factor of the thing) but then I discovered Slender Man's youtube account (yes.  he has a youtube account!  It's the 21st Century!  Even monsters like technology!)

Upon seeing Slender Man's youtube (oh to refer to it as that tickles me.), I decided he's way awesome with editting and effects and should really consider going into some kind of video vocation instead of terrorizing young film makers.
