when i was younger, i used to think food had feelings and I'd secretly apologize in my head to it before i ate it.example: "I'm sorry Chicken Nugget"
I think I remember trying to justify it by thinking that being food was their purpose and food was supposed to be eaten. But damn it, I still felt bad.
It never helped either when food looked like it had a face....
